In the Exodus, the ancient Israelites were commanded to use Shittim wood or Acacia wood for the construction of the gold covered Ark of the Covenant and most important parts of the Tabernacle.

Exodus 25:10:
“And they shall make an Ark of Shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof”

Exodus 26:15:
“And for the Tabernacle you shall make the boards of Acacia wood, standing upright”

The Acacia tree seemed to be the only tree available in the hottest, driest and harshest regions in Egypt, the Sinai Peninsula, the Judean Desert, and the Negev but this tree also has some remarkable properties. The wood of the Acacia tree is extremely strong, durable and very dense which makes it very difficult to be penetrated by water and agents of rot, mold, and decay. Sacred spiritual properties by the incense on burning the wood and healing properties by using both bark and leaf extracts. According to the Freemasons, the sacred properties of the tree represent the purity of the soul and the ancient Egyptians used their own version of Ayahuasca as the Acacia contains Dimethyltryptamine or DMT and they called it “The Tree of Life.”

But above all, the solitary Acacia tree absorbs the pure and universal life-giving energy from our Sun making its wood extremely suitable for its purpose where the word “Ark-a” or “Arka” is one of the most ancient and prominent names for the Sun referring to the nature and qualities of the Sun which is known in Sanskrit as “Arka” – certainly a true “Tree of Life”
